Trump’s Claims About Rigged Elections Are To Distract Voters from the True Concern
Here Are The Facts:
- The Republicans control the election processes in the overwhelming majority of states.
- The Republican controlled state election processes represent a staggering 302 electoral votes, much more than the 270 needed to win.
- The Republicans control the state election processes in the majority of swing states: Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, Nevada, and Iowa.
- The Republican officials in charge of several swing state election processes are Trump supporters and have even hosted fundraisers for Trump.
- Democratic controlled state election processes only represent a meager 173 electoral votes.
- The Republican controlled state election officials, representing those 302 electoral votes, have been actively trying to suppress the Democratic vote by purging voter rolls and enacting various laws to try to suppress African American and Latino votes.
Trump’s Rigged Election Claims Are Completely Baseless — Republicans Control the Election Processes in the Overwhelming Majority of States
Trump is claiming voting irregularities when the overwhelming number of state elections this year will be controlled by Republican Governors. 31 states have Republican Governors while only 18 states have Democratic Governors. Moreover, 29 states have out right Republican-controlled election processes, by having elected Republicans as either Secretary of State or Lietenant Governor that control the election process in their state. The Republican-controlled state elections represent a staggering 302 electoral votes, more than the 270 to win.
Only 17 states have Democratic controlled election processes, representing a meager 173 electoral votes. The remaining 4 states have a bi-partisan electoral process with a total of 63 electoral votes. Even with the 173 electoral votes from Democratic controlled election processes and 63 from bi-partisan controlled election states, it would only amount to 236 electoral votes. So, for Hillary to win, she would need to get at least 34 electoral votes from Republican-controlled election process states.
Trump by contrast, needs ZERO electoral votes from Democrat-controlled or bi-partisan controlled state election processes to win. The overwhelming majority of electoral processes are controlled by Republicans. Republican-controlled electoral processes represent 302 electoral votes, more than the 270 needed to win.
The Swing State Election Processes Are Controlled by Republicans
The Republican-controlled election processes include the swing states of Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, and Nevada. Moreover, the head of the election process in the swing state Ohio, Republican Secretary of State John Husted, is a Trump supporter. The Republican Secretary of State of Iowa, Paul Pate, even hosted a campaign fundraiser for Trump. Finally, the Republicans have been working to suppress the vote of Democrats and minorities in the Republican-controlled election states. They have been purging voter rolls, passing i.d. laws, and numerous other activities to try to suppress the vote for Hillary. If anyone should be worried about the fairness of this election, it should be Democrats.
The Media Needs to Set the Facts Straight
The problem with the Republicans is that they just lie to the American people and the media lets them get away with it. The rigged election claims by Republicans are just outright bald-faced lies. Please spread the word and ask the media to clarify the facts for the people.
